Arashiyama Bamboo Forest was a little disappointing - it was very short, and full of tourists who'd just stop right in front of you without warning and then act huffy when your umbrella dripped on them. It was pretty, though.
The temple, Jojakko-ji, was beautiful, and there was a CAT and she sat and my LAP and took a NAP and purred and it was THE BEST so obviously that place gets a 10/10.
The monkey park was full of wild monkeys, including teeny tiny little babies and they were very cute but stinky. I made the probably poor decision to climb that mountain in spite of my knee still giving me grief, but I just took the steps like an old lady, one at a time, to avoid bending my knee, so it wasn't too terrible.
Here are many pictures.
